1966
The Beginning
In 1966, Louis and Molly Shinwell pioneered the creation of the first modern Cossack-style dental tunic, igniting the journey of Dencowear. The name Den-Co-Wear comes from the very first 'dental coat' that was made. Their vision laid the cornerstone for a company dedicated to blending innovation with style, a legacy spanning three generations.
1980
EXPANDING INTO HEALTHCARE
During the 1980s, under the leadership of Sue Sherman (daughter of Louis & Molly), Dencowear expanded beyond dental tunics to cater to the wider healthcare industry. Recognising the need for stylish yet functional uniforms, we introduced a diverse range of workwear tailored for
medical, beauty, and pharmacy professionals. Our commitment to quality and innovation helped solidify our reputation as a trusted provider of professional uniforms.
2000
A NEW ERA OF HEALTHCARE UNIFORMS
With the rise of digital shopping in the early 2000s, we saw an opportunity to better serve the healthcare industry. In 2013, we launched our dedicated healthcare e-commerce store, Uniforms4Healthcare.com,
specialising in the garments we had been manufacturing for decades for our ‘offline’ key clients—such as scrubs, tunics, and dresses
